Step 2 - Entering Keywords & Silos
Previous Topic  Next Topic

1) Click the 'Theme Keywords & Silos' tab:

*Note:  If you imported your ThemeZoom data, you will see a list of 'Keywords for Theme Density' and 'Silos' in this tab already populated.  If you are entering a new theme from scratch, you will need to enter these keywords manually or import them from a file(s) following the steps below.

2) You can enter a list of 'Keywords for Theme Density' manually by typing your keyword in the first blank line.  Hit the tab key to go to the next blank line to enter another keyword.

3) You can delete individual keywords by clicking on the button on that line.

4) You can import a list of keywords by clicking the 'Import Theme Keywords from File' button:

- An 'Open File' dialog box will appear:

- Navigate to the folder on your computer that has your keyword list file.

- Select the file, then click the 'Open' button in the lower-right corner of the 'Open File' dialog box

- Your imported keywords will appear in the 'Keywords for Theme Density' list

5) You can delete the entire list of keywords by clicking the red 'Delete All Theme Keywords' button below the keyword list.

6) You can export your keyword list by clicking the 'Export Theme Keywords to File' button above the list.

- A 'Export Records to File' dialog box pops-up with the default 'Tab-Separated Text' file type selected and 'untitled.tab' as the file name:

- Find a location on your hard drive to save your file, select 'Comma-Separated Text' from the 'Type' drop-list and name your file, then click the 'Save' button in the lower-right:

- If you open the file you just created, you will see a list of keywords:

7) Check the 'SEP' checkbox if the keyword is a Search Engine Proven Synonym.  This will allow ThemeMatic to prioritize your keywords correctly under the 'Create Content' tab

8) You can enter 'Silos' the same way as you enter 'Keywords for Theme Density' by following the same steps above but for the 'Silos' side of the 'Theme Keywords & Silo' tab.  All buttons work the same way as well as when adding Silo keywords, Articles, and Article Expert Verbiage in the other areas of ThemeMatic:

*Note:  'Keywords for Theme Density' are keywords that will be used in your home page content, or the 'index' page of your site at the root level (in other words, when someone goes to www.mydomain.com, the home page of your site is a file named 'index.html' or 'index.php' or 'index.htm', etc.)  This page has the location, relative to the root of your domain, of 'http://www.mydomain.com/index.html', for example.  These keywords should be sprinkled throughout the content of your home page to strengthen the theme density of your site's overall theme.
